Immigration Pathways to Canada PR as a Chef

Express Entry- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

The FSTP is managed under the Federal Express Entry system and is exclusively designed for prospective migrants demonstrating skill and expertise in specific industries or occupations.

To qualify for Federal Skilled Trades Program, you must have a minimum of two years of work experience either full-time or equivalent amount of part-time in any skilled trade. Also, the occupation must fall under the relevant NOC.

Additionally, there is no specific criteria for minimum education, so whether you have a high school graduation degree or a PhD, you are eligible to apply.

In order to qualify and enter the Express Entry pool of candidates under FSTP, you must:

• Meet the minimum language proficiency requirement for all four abilities, i.e. writing, reading, listening and speaking for which you may take online IELTS coaching from experienced trainers

• Have minimum 2 years of work experience either full-time or an equal amount of part-time in a FST eligible skilled trade gained in past 5 years before applying
• Meet the job requirements for particular skilled trade as listed in the NOC
• Have valid full-time employment offer for minimum 1 year or a "certificate of qualification" issued by a provincial, federal or territorial authority in Canada in a skilled trade
• You must demonstrate that you have enough proof of funds to financially support yourself and your accompanying family (if any) in Canada only if you are not able to legally work in Canada currently or don't have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer
• You must be admissible to Canada
• You must plan to live outside Quebec as the province selects skilled workers through its own program

Application process to Apply for Canada PR as a Chef through FSTP

If you meet all the requirements, you can submit your Express Entry profile to the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).

Please note, profile submission does not guarantee you an ITA for Canadian PR.

Once you submit an Express Entry profile and enter the pool of candidates, you'll be awarded with a CRS score and ranked against each other.

If you manage to obtain minimum cut off requirement as per individual draw and be a part of highest ranking candidates, then an Invitation to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence will be issued to your in the upcoming Express Entry draw.

Upon receiving an ITA, you'll have 60 days time to complete and submit final PR application along with required documents and Canada PR processing fee.
