Canada Self Employed visa program

Self Employed Visa is a program for applicants who are into cultural activities, athletics at the world-class level, buying and managing a farm, and migrating to Canada as self-employed.

As a self-employed farmer, international, professional athlete, or individual in the arts and culture sector, you can apply under this visa only if you demonstrate your potential to be self-employed in any part of Canada.

To be eligible as a self-employed, an applicant must: 

• Have at least two years of experience in the past five years before the date of applying in one of the following categories:-
  • Cultural activities- 2 one-year periods as self-employed in cultural activities, or participating in world-class cultural activities or a combination of both
  • Athletics at the world-class level- 2 one-year periods as self-employed in athletics, or participating in world-class athletics, or a combination of both
  • Farm management

Apart from meeting the experience criteria, applicants must score a minimum of 35 points out of 100 based on five selection factors:

Admissibility Requirements

An applicant and his/her family members are required to undergo a medical examination and police verification. Also, applicant must have enough proof of funds to support himself/herself and accompanying family members in Canada.
