NSNP Entrepreneur Streams

Through the Nova Scotia Nominee Program, prospective new comers with right skill sets and experience get an opportunity to get nominated for immigration to Nova Scotia on a permanent basis.

Under NSNP, there are dedicated streams for those foreign nationals who wish to live in Nova Scotia to start a new business or buy an existing one in the province.

The NSNP Entrepreneur Stream

The Entrepreneur Stream under NSNP is ideal for those individuals who have relevant experience as business owners or senior business managers and a true intention to live in Nova Scotia permanently.

To qualify for provincial nomination by Nova Scotia for permanent residency of Canada, they must set up a new business or buy an existing one and operate and participate actively in day-to-day management of that business for at least an year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To apply under this stream, you must:

• Age at least 21 years or older
• Intent to live in Nova Scotia permanently while actively managing a business in the province
• Have at least $600,000 CAD of net worth
• Be capable of investing a minimum of $150,000 CAD of your personal money for establishing a business in province
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ of experience in managing and owning an active business or minimum 1/3 business ownership or more than 5 years’ of experience of handling senior business management role
• Have a minimum of 5 CLB band in listening, speaking, writing and reading in English or French language test
• Submit an online EOI, i.e. Expression of Interest
• Get an ITA (Invitation to Apply) from the NSNP

International Graduate Entrepreneur

This stream is designed for those individuals who recently graduate from Nova Scotia university or the a Community College. To qualify, candidates must have bought or started a business in Nova Scotia and operated it for a minimum of one year.

If a candidates have true intention of settling down in Nova Scotia permanently, then he/she may get provincial nomination by Nova Scotia for permanent residency in Canada.

ELIGIBILITY

To qualify under this stream, you must:

• Intent to permanently live in Nova Scotia while owning and managing a business in Nova Scotia actively
• Have a minimum of 1 year of continuous experience in actively managing and owning a business in Nova Scotia
• Have finished a full-time diploma or degree (2 academic years) at a Nova Scotia university or Community College
• Have a post-graduation work permit(PGWP)
• Have scored a minimum of CLB 7 Band in all four abilities in English or French language coaching
• Submit an online EOI (Expression of Interest)
• Obtain an ITA (Invitation to Apply) from NSNP
