CRS score dropped to lowest of 2024 in New Category-based Express Entry draw for French-Proficiency

This was fourth category-based Express Entry draw this year, which invited the candidates with French language proficiency (2024-1) to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa.

In this category-based EE draw, the IRCC issued 2,500 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian PR visa, who had the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of 336 points or higher.

EE Draw Analysis

 

This was 9th EE invitation round of this year and 6th EE draw in the month of February 2024. In the six invitation rounds occurred in Feb 2024, the IRCC invited record 16,110 candidates to apply for Canadian PR visa.

Overall, in total nine EE draws of federal EE System held this year until date, the IRCC has issued total 19,390 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canada PR visa. As was expected, the CUT OFF dropped significantly by almost hundred points for category-based EE draws.

 

In fact, this is the lowest CRS score requirement in 2024 until date announced by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in any Express Entry draw.

Same categories retained for category-based selections in 2024

 

The IRCC has confirmed recently that it has retained the same six categories for Category-based Express Entry draws this year, which it used last year. The categories retained for 2024 are:

• A strong French language proficiency or
• Work experience in one of the below fields:
  • healthcare
  • science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
  • trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
  • transport
  • agriculture and Agri-food

Best time to apply for Canadian PR visa

This is the best time to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa considering the considerable key factors, i.e.

• Significant drop of CUT OFF in category-based Express Entry draws and
• IRCC has an immigration target to invite 110,770 new permanent residents this year
