ACT Migration Holds New Canberra Matrix Invitation Round- Issues 227 ITAs

The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government has conducted its latest Canberra Matrix Invitation Round on October 24, 2024. During this round, a total of 227 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to eligible visa applicants. These ITAs were distributed across two visa subclasses:

  • Subclass 190: Skilled Worker (State Sponsored)
  • Subclass 491: Skilled Work Regional (Provisional)

The ACT government's Canberra Matrix program is designed to attract skilled workers to the region. The program prioritizes occupations in high demand in the ACT labor market.

ITAs Issued to Multiple Categories

The ITAs issued in the Canberra Matrix Invitation Round were allocated to applicants falling under three primary categories:

  • Small Business Owners: Under this category the ACT issued 1 and 3 Invitations respectively for Subclass 190 and subclass 491 visa.
  • 457/482 Visa Holders: Individuals currently holding a valid Subclass 457 Temporary Graduate visa or Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa received 16 ITAs for both subclasses.
  • Critical Skill Occupations: Applicants with skills in occupations deemed critical to the ACT economy were also prioritized and received 176 ITAs.
  • Critical Skill Occupations (Overseas Applicants): This category including overseas applicants possessing skills in critical occupations and meeting the ACT's eligibility criteria received 31 Invitations to Apply (ITAs)

ACT Migration Program 2024

The ACT Migration Program 2024 offers a pathway for skilled workers to migrate to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
