Alberta drops CRS score to just 305 points in latest Alberta PNP draw on 9 November

Alberta conducted the new draw of Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)- Express Entry stream on November 9, 2023. In this latest invitation round, AAIP issued 16 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for provincial nomination to the Express Entry candidates who had the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of 305 points or above.

New AAIP- Express Entry stream draws

Alberta opened new draw on 9 November 2023. However, recently, the province also released draw results of its draw occurred on 24 October 2023, which was not revealed earlier. Find below the criteria for these draws :

• 9 November – The Alberta PNP draw held for Dedicated Healthcare Pathway with Alberta job offer, CRS score 300 and above. Total 16 NOIs issued with a CRS score requirement of 305 points. 

• 24 October – The Alberta PNP draw held for Priority sector - Construction occupation with Alberta job offer, CRS score 300-500. Total 110 NOIs issued with a CRS score requirement of 300 points.

This was first AAIP- Express Entry stream draw this month. In October 2023, Alberta held record six AAIP draws inviting total 428 candidates to apply for the provincial nomination.

Alberta EE stream selection

The below parameters will apply to Alberta EE Stream selection for 2023:

• A projected 31 percent of nominations will be allotted to applicants in in-demand occupations who have a close family connection (parent, child, brother or sister) in Alberta. In-demand occupations comprise occupations with significant accumulative imbalance on Alberta’s Occupational Outlook and occupations in 'High' or 'Moderately High' demand in the Short-Term Employment Forecast.
• A projected 23 percent of nominations will be allotted to applicants with a primary occupation in the health care, construction, agriculture, hospitality and tourism sectors, with priority given to candidates with an Alberta employment offer
• A projected 45% of nominations will be allocated to the Accelerated Tech Pathway
