Australia has increased the Visa fee for most Visa Subclasses from 1 July 2023

The government of Australia has revised the visa fee for the most Visa Subclasses with effect from 1 July 2023. On 1st July new program year of Australia starts and this is the time Department of Home Affairs (DHA), Australia announce key measures, make key changes in policies which includes Revision of Visa fee.

Visa application fees increased for popular visa subclasses

Every year, a significant number of individuals apply for the Skilled Visa, study visa, visitor visa in Australia. Hence, any immigration change makes impact on thousands of applicants. Find below the updated/new visa fee for popular General Skilled Migration Program (GSM) category visas:

Fee Revised for Study, Visitor and Partner visa

The Department of Home Affairs (DHA), Australia has also increased the visa fee for Study, tourist and Partner visa. Find below the revised fee applicable from 1 July 2023:

  • Student visa Subclass 500- AUD710
  • Visitor Visa Subclass 600 (Tourist/Business/family)- AUD190
  • Partner Visa Subclass 309/100- AUD8,850

Australia Easing the immigration rules for applicants

The revision of visa fee is a routine after the announcement of annual budget every year. However, in general, the government of Australia is constantly easing the immigration rules and procedure for the skilled, student and visitor visa applicants. Here are a few recent measures taken by the DHA in the interest of various visa applicants applicable from 1 July 2023:

  • Increased Annual Immigration target from 160,000 to 190,000 visa places
  • Indian graduates studying in Australian territory institutions on a student visa can apply to work without visa sponsorship for up to 8 years.
  • The govt. has announced the allocation of extra 2 years of post?study work rights to Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485) holders
  • The DHA has announced an increase to the part -time working hour limit for the foreign students in Australia, from 40 hours per fortnight to 48 hours per fortnight
