Australia has Revised Visa Application fees from 1st July 2024- Fees Increased Across Most Subclasses

The Australian Government has announced an update to visa application charges (VAC) effective July 1st, 2024. While most visa subclasses will see a marginal increase, the cost of securing a student visa has significantly risen. The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) usually reviews and updates visa application fees once a year, coinciding with the start of the program year on July 1st.

Fees Increased Across Most Subclasses

For international students, the application fee has increased significantly, i.e. jumping from $710 to $1,600. The Department of Home Affairs has not yet provided a detailed breakdown of the increased charges for all visa subclasses. However, it's recommended that anyone planning to apply for an Australian visa after July 1st, 2024, consult the official website for the latest fee schedule or may write to Visas Avenue at info@visasavenue.com for latest fee status. This will ensure they have accurate cost information before submitting their application.

It's important to note that these charges are separate from any potential healthcare costs or other expenses associated with migration.

The Australian government's stated goal of using the additional revenue to improve education and migration systems remains to be seen. It's advisable for potential applicants to carefully consider the new fee structure when planning their visa applications for Australia.
