Canada completes inviting potential sponsors for Parents & Grandparents Program 2021 process

The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has finished inviting potential sponsors for the Parents & Grandparents Program 2021. Following its process in place, the IRCC has randomly selected and invited potential sponsors from the remaining pool of interest to sponsor forms submitted last year. Find out more details.

IRCC Randomly issued PGP invitations to potential sponsors

The immigration department of Canada, i.e. IRCC, between September 23 and October 4, 2021, invited the potential sponsors to apply. It has issued adequate invitations to reach its target of accepting 30,000 complete applications. If you have received the ITA, you must submit your online application by the deadline mentioned on your invitation to apply letter.

How to check the PGP invitation from IRCC

The IRCC has only sent an email to invited candidates. To ensure you do not miss the email from IRCC:

    • Check the same email account, which you have used to submit your interest to sponsor form in 2020.
    • Check your junk mail and spam folder to confirm if an email from IRCC is there.
    • If IRCCcould not send the invitations through your email, it has sent it by mail, so you can check your mailbox as well in the forthcoming days.
    • If the relevant PGP status tool on IRCC website says you were invited, but you still do not have the invitation, you can ask for a copy using an online form.

If you have not received the invitation this time around

If you did not get the PGP invitation this time around, however you want your parents and grandparents to come to Canada, you may check if they are eligible to apply for a super visa. The super visa could let them stay in Canada for up to 2 years at a time.
