Canada has revised the Express Entry Proof of Funds Requirement for 2021

The Canadian government has updated the Express Entry- proof of funds requirement to settle in Canada. The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) every year update the table of Proof of funds and to stay eligible, you must update your settlement fund numbers in your Express Entry profile, in case the submitted proof shows the value less than the revised funds requirement.

Express Entry Proof of Funds Requirement

To keep your Express Entry profile eligible, you need to check the updated POF requirement and accordingly update the same until July 15, 2021.Updating your EE profile does not change the date and time of submission, hence, you willretain your rank if there is a tiebreaker situation.

Who needs proof of funds?

An applicant require the proof of funds to meet the minimum requirements of the below Express Entry categories. 

•    Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
•    Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

Both the above categories need to show the Proof of funds requirement to convince the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that they will be able to support themselves (during the initial period) upon landing in Canada.

Who does not need proof of funds?

An applicantdo notrequire to show enough funds to support yourself and your family if,
•    s/he applying under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or
•    s/he is authorized to work in Canada and have a valid employment offer, even if the applicant has applied under Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Federal Skilled Trades Program
Hence, do check your EE profile and update the POF as per the updated requirement before 15th July 2021.
