The Canadian government has finally revealed much-awaited Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2021-2023. The aspirants of immigration to Canada were eagerly waiting for this plan.
As per the new immigration plan revealed, Canada will welcome more than 400,000 new permanent residents in 2021 and this target will keep on increasing until 2023. Let us find out more details.
Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2020-21
As per the latest Immigration plan revealed the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will accept over 1.2 million permanent residents by 2023. This is certainly a massive target considering the recent interruptions caused by the global pandemic.
Immigration target for 2021 for different programs
The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has revealed the detailed Supplementary Information for the 2021-2023 Immigration Levels Plan.
Federal High skilled target for 2021
Canada to welcome 108,500 newcomers under Federal High skilled category of migrants. The three main subcategories comes under this program, i.e.
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (Federal Skilled Worker Program)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
All three above-mentioned programs comes under federal Express Entry System, which is the most popular point-based immigration program of Canada and part of Canada's economic immigration. This year, Express entry is going to set a new record for issuing annual invitation, as it has already invited 82,850 candidates in 2020 until October month.
Total target for Economic immigration programs is 232,500 for the year 2021, including the programs, i.e. QSWP, Atlantic immigration Pilot (6,000), Economic Pilots (8,500), etc.
Target for Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)
Total 80,800 new immigrants will be welcomed under the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). This target is much higher, if we look at the PNP target for this year, i.e. 67,800.
The PNPs of Canada actively participate in the immigration process of the maple leaf country and nominate significant number of people for Canada Permanent Residence (PR) Visa, despite relatively low immigration point Score.
Family migration program
Under the family immigration program, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will admit total 103,500 people. Out of this number, 23,500 newcomers will be welcomed under Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) and 80,000 people will come to Canada under the Spouses, Partners and Children sponsorship programs. The 2021 target for Refugees and Protected Persons is 59,500, while total 5,500 individuals will be welcomed under Total Humanitarian & Compassionate and Other category.
