Canada PR- When will Express Entry CRS Score reduce below 500 mark

Since 6 July 2022, the IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) is conducting the all-program Express Entry draws regularly to invite the candidates under all EE categories to apply for Canada PR visa.

Here are the key EE categories, which are receiving Invitations to Apply (ITAs) at now:

  • FSW (Federal Skilled Worker)
  • FST (Federal Skilled Trades).
  • CEC (Canadian Experience Class)
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

High CUT OFF despite positive Express Entry draw trend

The trend or pattern of Express Entry draws has been positive in last few weeks in terms of constantly increasing per draw invitations to apply for Canada immigration on PR Visa and continuously reducing the CUT OFF or Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement draw after draw.

However, despite this positive trend of draws, the CUT OFF is still high (i.e. above 500 CRS points) for the liking of the candidates, especially those registered for Canadian PR visa under FSW (Federal Skilled Worker) category with no provincial nomination certificate. Hence, every such applicant has this question, i.e.

When will the CRS score drop below 500 mark?

In last Express Entry System draw, CUT OFF was 510 CRS points, i.e. just 11 points short from going below 500 mark. This means, IRCC is very close to reducing to the comfort zone of FSW category applicants. That being said, as per the Express Entry pool status on 12 September 2022, there were still 6,636 candidates in the pool with CRS score 501 or above. Although, over 3,000 candidates received the invitations in the 14 September draw, however, most probably equal number of candidates are likely to register fresh in the EE system in next two weeks, i.e. until opening of next EE draw.

Which means, the status of high CRS score candidates (i.e. above 500 points) may remain around same mark, i.e. 6,000. If that happens, it will take around 2-3 draws (one month or more) for IRCC (Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) to reduce the CUT OFF below 500 mark, considering number of ITAs issued by IRCC in each recent draw.

PNP pathway is also open

Meanwhile, you also have option to apply to any Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of Canada, obtain eh provincial nomination and increase your CRS points by 600 points. Express Entry linked stream of a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) helps you add 600 extra points to your Express Entry account, and thus, enables you get the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR visa from IRCC.
