Canada to resume Express Entry all-program draws from July 6, 2022

In his latest interview, the Immigration Minister of Canada, Sean Fraser has confirmed that IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) is set to resume the all-program draws of federal Express Entry System from 6 July 2022.

Canadian Immigration Department has released various Express entry and Canada immigration update recently in the interest of immigration applicants. This latest update will surely please thousands of Canada PR (Permanent Residence) visa aspirants.

All-program Express Entry draws resuming on 6 July

Restarting of all-program draws will please tens of thousands of Express Entry candidates registered under FSW (Federal Skilled Worker) category. These candidates are waiting for the Invitation to Apply (ITA) from last two years.

Apart from this, the IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) is easing the EE system through various updates released in last few months, i.e.

• Express Entry has resumed the 6 months processing time for Express entry PR application received from applicants post Invitation to Apply (ITA)
• New NOC system to start soon. the IRCC will complete the switch from NOC 2016 to NOC 2021 in November 2022. The NOC 2021 presents a TEER system, which has six categories: TEER category 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
• In NOC 2016, eligible occupations for Express Entry were from Skill Level B and above. However, under NOC 2021, TEER 3 and above will be eligible.
• The IRCC to hold occupation-based EE draws in next few months. It has proposed these amendments under Bill C-19, providing the immigration minister more freedom regarding inviting overseas skilled worker candidates in the Express Entry pool.

As per Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2022-24, this year, Canada will admit 431,645 new permanent residents and about 60 percent of new admissions will be under economic immigration programs, such as, Express Entry or Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
