In acknowledgement of the vital role caregivers play in supporting Canadian families, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced new pilot programs to streamline immigration for these essential workers.
These programs replace the expiring Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilots, ensuring a continued pathway for caregivers to enter Canada. Furthermore, IRCC has set its sights on making caregiver programs a permanent fixture in the immigration system.
"The dedication of caregivers from abroad is invaluable," said the Canadian immigration minister, Marc Miller. "Their contributions directly impact the lives of children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities."
