Canada welcomed over 100,000 new permanent residents in first two months of 2023

As per the latest monthly data of Express Entry System released by IRCC (Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada), Canada has welcomed 100,430 new permanent residents in the first two months, i.e. January and February 2023. This is an incredible number of new PRs accepted by the maple leaf country, if we look at the initial PR admissions in recent years.

The Express Entry System is the popular point-based immigration program of Canada that every year register a significant number of skilled and talented people and subsequently allocated them Canadian PR (Permanent Residence) visa. This year, Canada is expected to issue 82,880 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa.

Considering the PR admissions in the first two months of 2023, the projected admissions by the end of this year, may touch the mark of 600,000 permanent residents this year. However, this is just a projected figure based on the admissions in January and February month.

Best time to apply for Canada PR

This year, the IRCC has been inviting a significant number of candidates to apply for Canadian PR visa. In fact, this year until 12 April 2023, the IRCC (Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) has invited 41,059 candidates to apply for PR visa. In less than a month, i.e. between 15 March to 12 April 2023, the IRCC has invited nearly 25,000 thousands candidates to apply for Canada PR visa. At now, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement in Express Entry system is also the lowest level of last two years.

As per Canada immigration levels plan 2023-2025, the IRCC will accept 465,000 new permanent residents in 2023, this target will further rise to 485,000 in 2024 and in the year 2025, Canada will admit 500,000 new permanent residents. The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) of Canada will also invite 105,500 newcomers in 2023.
