Express Entry Draw on 17 July- IRCC invites 6,300 candidates Under Canadian Experience class Category

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its sixth Express Entry draw of July on July 17, 2024. This draw specifically targeted candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). A total of 6,300 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to CEC candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 515. This marks the lowest CRS cut-off for a non-category-based draw this year.

Express Entry draw for CEC– 17 July

This was the second CEC category draw this year as the previous one occurred on 31st May 2024. It's worth noting that the CRS cut-offs for CEC draws might seem high as these candidates having Canadian experience. The 200 points awarded for a valid job offer can significantly boost overall score of CEC candidates. However, it is bound to come down for the upcoming category-based EE draws.

Canada PR Approvals on Track for Record-Breaking Year

The outlook for Canada PR hopefuls is bright in 2024. With this latest draw, the total number of ITAs issued in July alone has reached 17,361. This brings the total number of invitations issued so far this year to a staggering 60,815.

IRCC's ambitious target for 2024 is 110,770 permanent resident admissions, and the frequent use of category-based draws is expected to further decrease CRS requirements. This means a higher chance of receiving an ITA for candidates with lower CRS scores throughout the year.

• A strong French language proficiency or
• Work experience in one of the below fields:
  • healthcare
  • science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
  • trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
  • transport
  • agriculture and Agri-food
