The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) opened an Express Entry draw No.280 on January 23, 2024 to invite 1,040 candidates under all EE categories to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa. The IRCC issued 1,040 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian PR visa in this particular invitation round to the express entry candidates with CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score 543 or higher.

The CUT OFF remains high these days in all-program draws, especially after the advent of the category-based selection based draws of federal Express Entry System started by IRCC last year.
Low CUT OFF in Category-based draws
The CRS score requirement or CUT OFF remains relatively low in category-based express entry draws. In 2023, the IRCC targeted below categories, i.e. candidates with,
- A strong French language proficiency or
- Work experience in one of the below fields:
- healthcare
- science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
- trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
- transport
- agriculture and Agri-food
These categories are likely to be prominent in the year 2024 as well.
