IELTS will soon introduce One Skill Retake Option

The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – a leading and globally recognized English testing agency will soon provide a new feature to give test takers a second chance to show their full potential.

The IELTS is largely popular English language test, approved and accepted by many countries, i.e. Canada, Australia, etc. to confirm the English language ability of the visa and immigration applicants.

IELTS to start One Skill Retake

The applicants of IELTS will soon have access to a new feature, i.e. One Skill Retake, which will help them improve their score to fulfil their immigration and career related requirements. This feature will enable test takers to retake one section of the 4-language skills (i.e. Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking) of the English test in case; they could not obtain the desired score in the first attempt. This feature is expected to be available in November 2022 at limited IDP IELTS centres in Australian capital cities.

As per Warwick Freeland, MD – IELTS, IDP Education, IELTS has introduced One Skill Retake feature, after listening to test takers’ feedback.

Speaking about the decision Mr Freeland said, “With the right preparation and support, we know our test takers achieve their best score the first time around,”

He further added, “However, we listened to our test takers and they told us they wanted the opportunity to retake one section of the test if they didn’t get the score they were aspiring for on test day. With One Skill Retake, test takers can get their study, migration or work applications plans back on track,”

The applicants, who opt for One Skill Retake in its first launch phase, will get a second Test Report Form, which they can use for migration and study purposes by the Department of Home Affairs, Australia.

Update about other Countries/test centres

As of today, the IELTS has not shared any update or information about commencing one skill retake feature in other countries (i.e. Canada, New Zealand, etc.) or test centres.
