India Resumes Visa Services for Canadian Applicants

From October 26, 2023, India is resuming its visa services for Canadian citizens, as confirmed by the announcement from the Indian Embassy in Ottawa on 25th October. This measure is expected to contribute to the restoration of cordial and productive bilateral relations between the two nations, alike the previous harmonious state.

Statement by the Indian High Commission

As per the statement issued by the Indian High Commission, "Following a thorough evaluation of the security situation, taking recent Canadian measures into account, we have decided to reintroduce visa services." Consequently, beginning on Thursday, services for entry, business, medical, and conference visas will be available.

The statement also indicated that emergency services will continue to be managed by the Indian High Commission and the consulates in Toronto and Vancouver. However, it was noted that the resumption of tourist, student, employment, and film visas is pending and will be addressed based on prevalent circumstances.

Canada continues to process visa applications from Indians

Meanwhile, Canadian government continues to invite immigration candidates and process the visa applications from Indians as usual. In fact, popular Express Entry immigration System of Canada has invited total 5,573 candidates in October 2023 only to apply for Canadian PR Visa under three different category of EE Draws.

The first draw this month was an all-program Express Entry draw, while next two draws were program-specific (i.e. PNP only) and Category-based (French language proficiency -2023-1) draw.
