IRCC Invites 1,121 PNP Candidates to Apply for Canadian PR Visa in Latest Express Entry Draw

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a new Express Entry draw on August 26, 2024, issuing Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to 1,121 candidates. This draw was exclusively for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, meaning that only those who had already been nominated by a participating Canadian province or territory were eligible to participate.

Express Entry draw on 26 August

The cut-off Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for this draw was a high 694. This is significantly higher than previous draws, as PNP candidates typically have a CRS score of at least 600 points based on their provincial nomination alone. The high cut-off reflects the fact that IRCC is prioritizing PNP candidates in its latest draws.

A remarkable 75,663 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) have been issued through 33 Express Entry draws so far in 2024. This significant increase underscores Canada's thriving economy and its dedication to welcoming skilled professionals from around the world. For individuals seeking to establish a new life in Canada, this presents an extraordinary opportunity.

PNP Candidates Have Higher Chances of Immigration

The PNP is a popular pathway to Canadian permanent residence. Under the PNP, provinces and territories nominate skilled workers, international students, and business people who they believe will contribute to their local economies. Once nominated, candidates receive additional points towards their CRS score, which significantly increases their chances of being invited to apply for a PR visa.

How to Apply for a PR Visa Through the PNP

If you are interested in applying for a PR visa through the PNP, you will need to first obtain a provincial nomination. Each province and territory has its own eligibility criteria and application process. Once you have been nominated, you will need to submit an application for permanent residence to IRCC.

CUT OFF will drop for Category-based draws

The cut off is likely to drop for the upcoming category-based draws to be held by the Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), as the IRCC is constantly holding category-based draws which demand relatively low Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score.
