IRCC invites 7,000 candidates in First Category-based Express Entry draw of the year

As was expected, the IRCC dropped the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score requirement significantly for the category-based selections in this particular EE draw. Find out more.

In this special draw, the IRCC issued 7,000 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian PR visa to the Francophone candidates who had the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of just 365 points or higher.

EE Draw Analysis

The IRCC has dropped the CUT OFF significantly in its first category-based selection this year, as a result huge number of candidates (i.e. 7,000) received the Canada PR invitation. Now, after 4 invitation rounds took place this year, Canada has invited total 10,280 candidates to apply Permanent Resident (PR) Visa. This is a staggering number in just one month.

French Language proficiency was one of the six selection categories in the year 2023 and it is evident now, that it is going to be vital this year as well.

In 2023, the IRCC targeted below categories, i.e. candidates with,

• A strong French language proficiency or
• Work experience in one of the below fields:
  • healthcare
  • science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
  • trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
  • transport
  • agriculture and Agri-food

IF you aspire to get PR visa in Canada, this is the best time to apply with high immigration target and low immigration point required in category-based draws.
