IRCC opens 3rd Express Entry draw of this week- invites 1,800 French-speaking Candidates

In the third Express Entry draw of this week opened on July 18, 2024, the Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 1,800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to apply for Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) Visa. In this category-based Express Entry draw, all invitations went to the Francophone (French-speaking) candidates while a significant drop is observed in the CUT OFF. Express Entry draw for French language proficiency (Version 1) – 18 July

Total 1,800 francophone candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score 400 or above received the Canada PR invitation in this particular Category-based draw for French language proficiency (Version 1) category.

With this latest EE invitation round, the total number of ITAs issued this month have reached to the mark of 19,161 in seven EE draws occurred in July. Overall, the number of ITAs issued this year have reached to 62,615 in 27 EE draws held until date.

French language proficiency holds the key for Canada PR aspirants in 2024

This was overall Express Entry draw number #305 and the 6th EE draw this year for French language proficiency (Version 1). This highlights the Canadian government's policy and inclination towards inviting more and more French-speaking candidates, which is justified given French is Canada's second official language after English.

It's key to note that the CRS score requirement drops significantly for all EE draws open to French-speaking candidates. Consequently, 2024 could be a promising year for securing a Canada PR invitation if you are proficient in French, even with a low CRS score. Additionally, the IRCC has also lowered the cutoff for other five categories selected for category-based selection draws in 2024.

• Work experience in one of the below fields:
  • healthcare
  • science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
  • trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
