IRCC invites 1036 PNP candidates in Second Express Entry draw of the year

Latest draw of federal Express Entry System opened on January 19, 2022 to invite 1,036 candidates to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa. It is the program-specific draw for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.

This PNP category Express Entry draw is the largest of its kind in last two years in terms of the number of invitations issued by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) this time around. Find out more details.

Express Entry draw results 19 January 

In this latest EE draw, the IRCC has invited 1036 candidates to apply for PR visa with a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score requirement of 745 CRS points this time around. Now, the IRCC has invited total 1,428 candidates this year in two EE draws.

In 2021, Express Entry invited total 1,14,431 candidates in overall 42 Express Entry draws held in the year.

News on FSW category draw

In view of the significant backlog of the PR applications, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is avoiding the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category draw at now. In the first half of 2021, the IRCC was conducting the CEC draws and inviting huge number of candidates, however, in view of the increased backlog, it has paused the both FSW and CEC category draws.

Now in the last few months, the IRCC has fasten the process to clear the backlog and the result of the same will reflect in next few weeks for sure. Once the backlog is cleared, we may see the FSW draws happening again. Meanwhile, you can choose and apply to alternate Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to get nomination and subsequently, the ITA in forthcoming PNP category draws of EE system.

Canada immigration in 2022

Canada to announce its immigration levels plan in February 2022, however, as per the earlier released multiyear year immigration plan, it has a target to invite 411, 000 new permanent residents this year. Hence, the applicants who wish to immigrate to Canada on PR visa; this is the perfect time to register your profile in federal EE system or in a relevant Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
