On April 17, 2025, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its second immigration draw of the month, specifically targeting skilled workers through its Skilled Worker Overseas stream. This draw issued 27 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), offering successful candidates a pathway to apply for provincial nomination, a crucial step towards Canadian permanent residency. The first MPNP draw of April took place on April 3, 2025.
Strategic Recruitment Prioritized in Skilled Worker Overseas Stream
The recent MPNP draw on April 17th exclusively focused on candidates within the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. This highlights the program's targeted approach to address specific labor market needs within Manitoba. A key aspect of this draw was the prioritization of profiles indicating a direct invitation from the MPNP through its various strategic recruitment initiatives. This signifies a proactive effort by the province to identify and engage with potential immigrants whose

Special Work Permits
As per the latest MPNP news, now, selected Manitoba PNP candidates will be able to access special work permits (valid up to two years) to maintain their status.
Minimum Score and Express Entry Alignment
The minimum score required for candidates who received an LAA under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream in this draw was 621. This score reflects a comprehensive evaluation of a candidate's Expression of Interest (EOI), considering factors such as education, work history, language proficiency, and adaptability. Notably, among the 27 LAAs issued, three were given to candidates who had declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. This connection between the provincial and federal immigration systems underscores a degree of coordination in selecting skilled immigrants.
Important Considerations for EOI Submissions
The MPNP provided crucial clarifications for candidates who achieved a score above the minimum threshold but did not receive an LAA. These reasons primarily revolved around inaccuracies or omissions in their EOI submissions. Specifically, candidates who indicated they had taken an approved third-party language test but failed to provide a valid test number or whose test had expired were cited as potential reasons for not receiving an invitation.
Similarly, candidates who claimed to have received an Invitation to Apply under a strategic recruitment initiative but did not provide a valid invitation number may have been overlooked. The province strongly advises all candidates to utilize the detailed help text available for each question in the EOI to ensure the accuracy of their submissions. Updating the EOI with correct information is recommended for consideration in future draws.
