NSW- Australia has eased Nomination Criteria for Subclass 190 visa

New South Wales (NSW) - the key state of Australia has now eased the nomination criteria for Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190. NSW immigration has recently revealed this update.

The Federal Government of Australia provides the NSW Government a limited number of places for its state and territory nominated skilled, business innovation and investor visa subclasses. Find out more about this latest update.

NSW Nomination Criteria Relaxed

NSW Immigration has removed the earlier available points scores and work experience instructions for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) due to greater availability of the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) by DHA, Australia.

Considering the above relaxation in the nomination criteria, it’s the high time for the aspirants to apply for the NSW nomination for Subclass 190 visa. The Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190 is a permanent residence visa that allows the visa holder to live, work or study in Australia permanently.

New South Wales nomination process

New South Wales employs a selection-based invitation process to make certain that NSW nominees are in line with the skills requirement of the NSW economy. Nomination for this visa is extremely competitive. We strongly reassure you to consider all other migration pathways and do not wait to get Invitation to Apply (ITA) for NSW nomination.

Key eligibility Requirements

To be considered for NSW nomination, at a minimum, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Fulfil all requirements defined by DHA for this visa
  • Be skilled in an occupation that is:
    • within an ANZSCO unit group identified on the NSW skills list for this visa; AND
    • is eligible for the visa
  • Be presently living in NSW, or offshore, and have continuously done so for a minimum period of six months
  • Have submitted an EOI SkillSelect seeking nomination for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) only and NSW only

How to Apply

  1. Check your eligibility status, i.e. whether or not  you are eligible for this visa
  2. Make sure you fulfil the NSW basic eligibility criteria defined
  3. Complete an EOI confirming that all information is correct
  4. Get ITA for NSW nomination from NSA
  5. If received ITA (Invitation to Apply), apply for NSW nomination within 14 days and provide proof for all points claims in your SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI) and where you presently live

Key Points to Remember

  • Invitation rounds take place throughout the financial year. There are no fixed dates, announced in advance.
  • No one can predict the invitation date or chances of your SkillSelect EOI getting the ITA
  • The authorities usually consider things as points score, English proficiency, and years of skilled experience during invitation rounds. However, issuance of the ITA for NSW nomination thoroughly depends on the NSW Government.
