Ontario Makes ‘Applicant Consent Form’ Mandatory for all New OINP Nomination Applications

Ontario, Canada has made the ‘Applicant Consent Form’ mandatory for all new applications for an Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) nomination with effect from February 26, 2024.

The OINP is one of the most popular Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of Canada. It assess and nominate the suitable applicants for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa through its periodic immigration draws.

Applicant Consent Form- A New requirement for all OINP applications

The applicant consent form is now a new and most crucial requirement for all OINP applications.  In case this form is not completed properly, your application will be returned as incomplete and your fee will be refunded. Find below the key points to remember while filling this new form:

The form must be:

  • completed
  • correctly dated
  • signed by the applicant
  • signed by the applicant’s spouse and dependents, if applicable
  • uploaded with other documents in the application

Representatives cannot sign the form

The representative of the applicants cannot not sign this form on their behalf. An applicant must complete this form once s/he get an invitation to apply, or a notification of interest.

The Ontario immigration no longer need the PDF Attestation Form for applications made under an OINP Expression of Interest (EOI) system stream. Moreover, the OINP have updated program materials and website pages to show the addition of the Applicant Consent Form.
