Western Australia (WA) has taken a significant step towards boosting its skilled workforce by issuing nearly 2,000 invitations on November 22, 2024, under its State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP). This move aims to attract skilled migrants to the state and address labor shortages in various sectors.

Invitation Breakdown

• Subclass 190 Visa: A total of 998 invitations were issued for the Subclass 190 visa, which leads to permanent residency in Australia. This visa is designed for skilled workers who have been nominated by a state or territory government.
• Subclass 491 Visa: 1,001 invitations were issued for the Subclass 491 visa, a skilled regional (provisional) visa that grants temporary residency for up to five years. This visa provides a pathway to permanent residency through regional migration.
